New books in 2013

There are a few scheduled releases in 2013 that I will be looking forward to:

1. Speaking from Among the Bones: A Flavia de Luce Novel by Alan Bradley.
I've been following this series all last year and I am looking forward to the next novel in the series coming out on January 29th.

2. Written in My Own Heart's Blood by Diana Gabaldon
This is the next book in the Outlander series scheduled to come out sometime in the fall of this year. And while the last few books were a bit weaker than the beginning of the series, I am still looking forward to this installment.

3. The Human Division by John Scalzi
This is a serialized novel set in the Old Man's War world. I am looking forward to more Scalzi humor. I've also been enjoying his blog lately.

Altogether I have been reading more standalone novels lately, so there aren't that many series installments for me to read -- yet I am sure I will find a way to pass the time. What 2013 releases are you looking forward to?

  1. I don't think I'm ever really up to date on new releases. There is always a million and half things coming out that interest me, but it's real work to keep up with them all.

I usually hear about newish books after the fact; even if they're by favorite authors.

  2. I just read the first episode of The Human Division and it was great!

Can't wait for the next Flavia book.

    1. I might wait to get all episodes together. One at a time just might be too frustrating :)

    2. It certainly could be. As Scalzi claims he has written each of these as a stand alone short story I'm looking at it that I'm getting a new John Scalzi short story every week for 13 weeks. Given how short his books usually are (and I'm not complaining, I like short books) I usually tear through them far too quickly and this is forcing me to stretch out my enjoyment.

I'll still be buying the novel when it comes out though as I want it with the rest of my OMW books.
