I always thought I understood how hard it was for someone to leave their family behind in order to come to this country for a "better" life and the fears that went along with being undocumented. I never really understood the magnitude of that fear and uncertainty until I read this book. What surprised me even more is that I never really thought about the impact immigration has on our youth and the responsibility it adds to their plate at such a young age when they are trying to figure out who they are and who they will become.Mesothelioma Lawyer San Antoniohttp://www.krwlawyers.com/_start_San-Antonio-Mesothelioma-Lawyer.phpnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740479213866970532.post-90679483194200571612017-09-29T09:25:51.424-07:002017-09-29T09:25:51.424-07:00..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740479213866970532.post-58334920625645060952017-09-29T09:22:56.506-07:002017-09-29T09:22:56.506-07:00...as well as The Bull From the Sea, continuation ......as well as The Bull From the Sea, continuation of Theseus' story from The King Must Die Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740479213866970532.post-51341645420052554242017-09-29T09:20:47.984-07:002017-09-29T09:20:47.984-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Markkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18075768992640599239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740479213866970532.post-16511836249560897072017-09-29T09:20:06.062-07:002017-09-29T09:20:06.062-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Markkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18075768992640599239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740479213866970532.post-77805117176711712242017-09-29T09:15:07.121-07:002017-09-29T09:15:07.121-07:00I'm curious about the lacking a strong plot co...I'm curious about the lacking a strong plot comment. For me, Alexias recounted an epic story that certainly kept moving and had me engaged continually. There were undeniable strong themes in her book. Of war. Of noble nature and loyalty vs. greed. Free speech. Philosophy. Downfall of Democracy. Possibility of love and attachment between men. Treatment of women. Personal sacrifice for others was there, again and again right through to Lysis trading sandals with Alexias before the fateful battle. How she revealed these details in subtle ways, Alexias' mended sandal revealed as the body was carried away, or when Lysis severely scolded him while washing the blood from Alexias' hair with Alexias not saying a word, or how they eventually made love by the sea. Her writing is such a gift.

Renault's The King Must Die gives Woman and Man a somewhat different look. I recommend it. Startling and brilliant. Clever writing (although I do remain a bit ticked with so many sentences that end in 'of'); it is rare that someone gets the balance right between knowing nods at the classics and striking a new path through the landscape.
I like this site :: San Antonio Movers websiteAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00118707550077647899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740479213866970532.post-50477773428042023692014-08-08T23:48:17.878-07:002014-08-08T23:48:17.878-07:00I really did enjoy it.
